Sandeep Kumar Dhul is a well known and talented left corner defender. He was born on 10 February 1996 in a Jat family in Kaithai district of Haryana. His friends, colleagues and loved ones nicknamed him Bachi.

Sandeep was a Kabaddi fan since childhood and first stepped on the mat at the age of ten. He was very alert from the start, trying to learn as much as he could from his inspiration and icon, Joginder Narwal. He was a big fan of the narwhal’s ankle grip and worked hard to incorporate it into his arsenal.

He has been a member of the Jaipur Pink Panthers since Season 6 of the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League and will return for Season 8 in 2021. Sandeep has done a great job in a short period of time by establishing his name and performance in the Pro Kabaddi League.

Early Life of Sandeep Dhul:

Sandeep was born in a sports-loving family in Kaithai district of Haryana. He lived in a region where kabaddi was the only sport. Sandeep started playing Kabaddi at the age of ten when his school sports teacher encouraged him to participate in school sports.

He started practicing the sport every day at his school and at the local ground. Sandeep praised Joginder Narwal’s defensive ability, especially his signature ankle. Soon, he started representing his school in district and state competitions and at the age of 18 he was selected for the Haryana state team.

Sandeep Dhul’s Kabaddi Career:

Sandeep graduated from Kurukshetra University. His coach Shri Rajbir Singh is his greatest strength and he maintains a good relationship with him till date. It was he who recognized Sandeep’s quick movement and unique ability of reflexes, which was ideal for a corner defender. He pushed him to be the best player he could be and motivated him even when he was injured.

His talent and performance in college earned him a place in the Junior National Indian Camp. Later, he advanced and was selected for the Inter Senior National Indian Camp, where he was able to showcase his true potential in Kabaddi. Sandeep was always the youngest and best left corner defender in the game, whose performances delighted both players and fans.

Sandeep Dhul Pro Kabaddi Karkird:

Sandeep made his Pro Kabaddi Season 3 debut for Dabang Delhi in a match between Delhi and Jaipur. He had a great debut in this game and the following season, scoring 32 points in 10 games played (which is quite an accomplishment for a young corner defender).

He was the lone warrior in Delhi’s shaky defense throughout the season. In Season 4, he joined Telugu Titans and formed an unbeatable right-left corner combo with Sandeep Narwal. In his first match, he scored a career-best 8 tackle points in 9 attempts. He is a quick learner, which allows him to effectively defend against his opponents by anticipating their moves and acting instinctively.

Sandeep is known for his aggressive nature on the field, which led to some difficulties in his career, as he was unsold in Season 5 despite an exceptional performance in Season 4, in which he scored 35 points in 12 matches. Problem but his love for Kabaddi helped him rediscover his true potential and kept his name alive as one of the best left-handed defenders who put his heart and soul into his game.

Deepak Hooda Kabaddi Character

He returned to the Pro Kabaddi League for season 6 with the Jaipur Pink Panthers. The Pink Panthers signed him for Rs 66 lakh, the highest paid for a young left cornerback at the time, and he was retained for season 7. In Season 6, he scored 67 points in 22 games. Despite improving his performance and scoring 74 points in 22 games in Season 7, he was unable to lead the Panthers to the playoffs.

Sandeep always followed strict discipline principles as a sportsman and avoided numerous injuries. His distinct defense style makes him a constant threat on the mat. There is no doubt that this prodigy will bring his teams and future the recognition he deserves. He is a real asset to the game of Kabaddi and if he is looked after properly, he can be one of the future left corners of the Indian team.

Sandeep Dhul Capacity:

Sandeep displayed wicked strength with moves like back holds, chain tackles and diving knee holds. However, his main weapon is his ankle grab, which he uses to dispatch several brutal attackers. He has perfected his ankle hold to a point where he, like Surender Nada, can be called an ankle hold expert.
